Winter Guard

The Brighton High School Winter Guard is one of the newest programs added to the Brighton Band family.  Introduced in the spring of 2014, Winter Guard is an extension of Color Guard that performs inside a gym instead of outside on a football field.

Winter Guard allows students the opportunity to practice flag, weaponry (rifle and saber), and dance skills in a more focused environment than out on a football field with a band.  Winter Guard practice and competitions take place in the early spring with auditions typically held after fall marching season.  They practice twice a week and go to various competitions in and around the Memphis metro area.

The Brighton High School Winter Guard is open to students in grades 9-12 and registered to attend Brighton High School.  Audition is required for placement in the unit.  For more information, please contact Brighton High Winter Guard Director, Courtney Chumley.
