Current Happenings
The Brighton High School Band has been working hard on music for our May 2nd Concert. Students should be practicing daily on the aspects of the music that are challenging them.

Please be sure to be up to date on your band fees through the 2023-2024 school year. The Boosters will be turning the debt list over to the school in early April.

Tuesday/Thursdays - Percussion Spring Training - Any student who wishes to be part of the 2024-2025 school year percussion section must attend.
Wednesdays - Percussion Ensemble

Important Dates and Information
April 20th – Rummage Sale
We will be hosting our annual rummage sale at BHS.
April 20th – University of Memphis Percussion Festival
Students in our percussion ensemble will be participating and performing at the U of M Percussion Festival.
April 27th – Six Flags Day Trip Date
May 2nd – BHS Band End of the Year Concert
Students of the BHS Band will present our second concert of the second semester at 7:00PM.
Student attire will be artist black.
May 7th – BHS Band Banquet
High School students and family members will celebrate a successful year in the BHS Cafeteria at 6:30PM.
May 16th – BHS Graduation
The BHS Band is required to perform.
May 18th – Brighton Band Recital
Brighton Band will be hosting their annual spring recital.
7th-12th Grade students will present solo and ensemble works at a concert.
Important Recital Dates
April Help Sessions - 16th, 18th, 23rd, 25th, 30th
April 9th – Sign-up/Registration Due and Repertoire Locked in
May Session - 6th, 9th, 13th, 14th
May 9th – Pass-off Due Date
May 17th – Dress Rehearsal Afterschool – Attendance is required.
May 18th – Recital
The sessions will be at BMS. For BMS students, sessions will end at 4:30 PM; for BHS Students, sessions will end at 5:00 PM

July 8th-12th – New Member/Guard/Percussion/Section Leader Camp
All members who are new to the band, in color guard, in percussion, or are section leaders are required to attend.
July 12th-26th – Full High School Band Camp
Attendance is mandatory to participate in High School Band.
We do not meet on weekends.
Yes, full band starts meeting on a Friday this upcoming marching season. This will give us the opportunity to review fundamentals with everyone and start setting drill on Monday. With many of our competitors having three weeks to a month of full band camp, this will help us to start setting drill a little earlier.
The band will have their end of camp performance on the evening July 26th in the BHS Stadium.
July 30th, August 1st, and 5th – Post-Band Camp Retention Rehearsals
These required rehearsals are in place to maintain performance after band camp.
There is a longer break this year between when band camp ends and when students begin.
We could not push band camp closer to the beginning of the school year due to teacher in-service being in session that week.
